Come see, touch, try, and learn about technology and services that help people with disabilities live as independently as possible. Mini-workshops on a variety of independent living topics will also be presented at this free event.
INDEPENDENT LIVING EXPO is an event where individuals with disabilities can learn, first-hand and under one roof, about available independent living services and technologies.
Now is the time and here is the right place. The disAbility Resource Center’s next INDEPENDENT LIVING EXPO is on Saturday, May 13, 2017, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center. The Fredericksburg region (Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford) is home to 347,000 citizens. Fredericksburg is located 58 miles north of Richmond, the state capital; 50 miles south of Washington, D.C.; and 143 miles northwest of Norfolk.
This was a very popular event in 2016 and 95% of the attendees said they would return each year. Attendees include people with various disabilities of all ages, their family members, seniors, caregivers, teachers, therapists, service providers, and medical personnel.
