MOVING OUR NATIONS SEVERELY INJURED VETERANS TOWARDS GREATER MOBILITY AND INDEPENDENCE

 Bond with other wounded veterans – fellowship is wonderful therapy

 Participate in adaptive athletic events, such as golfing and biking

 Attend a variety of Art Therapy workshops such as, painting, photography and writing

 Enjoy recreational activities in the Low Country of South Carolina

OUR MISSION

The Independence Fund, Inc. (“Indy Fund”) was created in 2007 to assist severely injured Veterans to obtain services, therapies, and equipment they were not otherwise receiving from governmental agencies, especially in relation to mobility and quality of life.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Indy Fund believes that for the complete physical and emotional healing of our severely injured veterans to occur it will take the unified efforts of our government, private institutions, corporate entities, and the community all working together towards a common purpose that is bigger than ourselves.

WHAT MAKES THE INDY FUND UNIQUE?

Since its inception, the all-volunteer Indy Fund has provided more than $9,000,000 in grants and services to severely injured veterans while fully maintaining its core values of:

Providing tools, therapies and guidance severely injured veterans aren’t otherwise receiving

Having no paid staff members

Maintaining a Board of Directors comprised entirely of combat veterans

Championing the value of physical activity no matter what the level of disability

Promoting the use of art as a tool of healing

Breaking down the barriers between the disabled and able bodied communities through veteran speaking engagements and community-based events such as LT Dan Weekend
