The Grand Park at the Market Common
Myrtle Beach, SC
Mobility Supercenter in Myrtle Beach, SC had an absolute blast at the walk today! Staff members Tim, Steve, and Troup brought several available wheelchair accessible vehicles – a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan with an El Dorado Amerivan conversion, a VMI Northstar conversion in a 2014 Honda Odyssey, and a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado converted by Mobility SVM. The wheelchair accessible vehicles drew a lot of interest from participants – and the shiny red Mobility SVM truck that Mobility Supercenter brought was a big hit with kids of all ages. The turnout from the local community was fantastic, as about 200 walkers showed their support in the fight against this aggressive disease. Aided by a cool breeze and plenty of warm sunshine, teams of walkers, chapter volunteers, caregivers and those who are battling ALS completed a 3-mile circuit around the park’s green fields and shimmering lake. Laughter was abundant everywhere, with HaHa the Clown painting faces and making balloon animals, and ShutterBooth Myrtle Beach took lots of silly photos of the participants. The Chapter provided pizza and water refreshment after the walk. We can’t wait until next year, and are looking forward to seeing you at the Riverfront Park in North Charleston on Saturday, March 29!
